Women's Gift Alliance

The Women's Gift Alliance was formed in 2004 when 52 committed Kootenai County women joined together to combine their resources to address philanthropic needs in the North Idaho Community. The purpose of the Alliance is to educate and expand the pool of women in philanthropy, to build and strengthen community through individual and pooled investments, and to demonstrate the impact that can result from informed focused grant-making.

 

Membership is based on a three-year commitment with an annual donation of $1000.00 plus a $50.00 yearly operating donation. Of your yearly $1,000 membership commitment, $500.00 is pooled with other members' funds and distributed through a grant solicitation and selection process, $250.00 is given to a local, non-profit entity of your choice, and $250.00 is placed in an endowment fund aimed at creating a permanent source of income to be distributed once endowment fund criteria are met. The remaining $50.00 is used for annual administrative costs.

 

Contributions must be received by December 31st of each year for distribution the end of June the following year. Contributions are made directly to Idaho Community Foundation for accounting purposes only. All grants and gifts are locally distributed and directed by our membership. All contributions are fully tax deductible. Anyone is welcome to join the WGA at anytime.
